The BE GREAT ACADEMY is the after-school program of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Midlands and Boys & Girls Clubs of Kershaw County. We have a lineup of tested and proven nationally recognized programs that address today’s most pressing youth issues, teaching young people the skills they need to succeed in life.
More than 25 national programs are available in the areas of education, the environment, health, the arts, careers, alcohol/drug and pregnancy prevention, gang prevention, leadership development and athletics. We provide programs for youth after school and during the summer months that are designed to meet identified needs and interests of the participants.
Our challenge is to teach our members things they need to know using things that they like to do. Our mission is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us the most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens.
